It’s Summer and we are all enjoying everything that Orient has to offer at this time of year. The bountiful farm produce, beautiful beaches, clean water, fresh air and open spaces. Since part of our mission is to keep you informed about the issues that might affect you, here are some heads-ups!
The OA Water Committee recently met with consultants at CDM Smith to discuss present and future recommendations that the community should consider to sustain the health of our water resources. While the consultant has analyzed historical data from private well testing performed by Suffolk County Department Health Services, we did not have much information about how folks in the community are coping with issues of contamination and reliability. Here are the results of our October 2023 survey.
Happy Spring everyone! As I write this, it already feels like summer. Speaking of summer—the Orient Association’s Annual Meeting—usually scheduled for the Memorial Day weekend, is going to take place on June 8th at 2:00pm.
Once again this has been a busy year for the Orient Association. Thank you to all who have participated in and supported OA’s activities. Here are some of the things that have been on our agenda in 2023.
We hope you are all enjoying the cool and peaceful days of spring as we approach the busy summer months.Kicking off the summer season, after a long hiatus the first in-person Annual Meeting of the Orient Association will be held on Saturday, May 27th at 9:30 am in Poquatuck Hall.Members of the Orient Association will be voting on a new slate of officers and Board Members will be introduced.
